Sharper’s List of the Best Coffee Houses in Portland, OR

Whether you’re looking for places with a hip atmosphere or just an insanely good cup of joe, we’ve got you covered with our list.

Stumptown Coffee Roasters

Stumptown coffee has become famous across the country since its creation in 1999, and it all started here in Portland. You can visit their flagship coffee house on SE Division st. This location used to be a hair salon called The Hair Bender which is now the name of one of their most popular coffee blends.

Stumptown Coffee has won many awards over the years and is definitely worth checking out for your morning boost. You can even attend a public tasting at Stumptown Headquarters and try out all of their delicious roasts.

Coava Coffee Roasters

The word coava refers to unroasted or “green” coffee, but you’ll find that all of Coava’s coffee is roasted to perfection. They’ve won many awards over the years including Oregon’s Small Business of the Year.

Coava is all about sustainably and ethically sourced beans, and their products really show the difference. By focusing on consistency in their roasting, they produce some of the best coffee Portland has to offer.

Check out Coava’s flagship location on SE Grand Ave or sign up for their coffee subscription and have their delicious roasts delivered to your home or office.

Good

The name says it all for Good coffee roasters, their coffee really is quite Good. Established in 2014, Good has 3 locations throughout the city. Their clean, inviting design makes their shops a great place to stop in and get a cup of coffee while getting work done or just hanging with some friends.

With several different roasts, you’re sure to find something delicious to try. Visit their shops in Buckman, Richmond, or Slabtown to experience some truly Good coffee.

Upper Left Roasters

While Upper Left Roasters are fairly new to the Portland coffee scene, their beans prove that they really know what they’re doing. Check out their intimate location on SE Clay st and try their stunning single origin espresso or get a perfect pour-over.

Upper Left Roasters also offers a small menu of toasts and open face sandwiches to enjoy with your tasty brew.

Tov Coffee & Tea

If you’re looking for a truly unique coffee drinking experience, check out Tov on SE 32nd & Hawthorne. Operating out of a bright red double-decker bus, Tov is the only place in the city to get an authentic Egyptian coffee experience. They serve traditional Egyptian coffee and tea beverages, along with delicious espresso and other American coffee fare.

There’s nothing quite as cool as drinking Tov’s unique roasts atop their fun double-decker coffee bus. Don’t miss out on this fun attraction while you’re in Portland!

These are some of our favorite coffee houses throughout our fine city, and while there are many other excellent coffee roasters that call Portland home, these shops are where we find ourselves going back again and again.
